         I. FUNCTIONS & REQUIREMENTS

 

Purpose

 

Provides sales support services to customers by displaying product knowledge, a willingness to solve service questions, and preparing orders for walk-in customers and phone in orders.

 

Primary Functions

 

   • Sells products and services to customers over the telephone and assist walk-in customers by picking orders from warehouse and loading purchases.

   • Provides pricing, delivery and product information as directed by supervisor.

   • Arranges and follows up repairs and returned merchandise, acting as an "agent" for the customer.

   • Assist outside salesmen with customer service and product information as requested.

   • Provides back-order and warranty information.

   • Assist walk-in customers by preparing orders and may assist in the loading of purchases.

   • Follows through on customer inquires and complaints.

   • Become familiar with all products and services provided.

   * Any other duties the supervisor feels necessary to fulfill the objectives of the company

 

Additional Functions

 

   • Assists in annual inventories or other inventories.

   • Attends company, department or individual training or meetings to include but not limited to product knowledge, vendor information or safety.

   • May assist in the training of new inside sales personnel.

   • Maintains store appearance through directed housekeeping activities.

   • Assist counter sales, inventory control and other department's personnel as required.

 

Required Equipment

 

   • Company Computer Order Entry System.   

• Forklift

   • Manual merchandise moving equipment.

 

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

 

   • High school education or equivalent

   • Valid Drivers License

   • One year sales experience

   • General understanding of mining supplies.

   • Be able to complete company training program.

 

Required Communication

 

     Communicate verbally and in writing, using the telephone, in person and through company forms, to customers and other personnel, relating product, customer, and technical information.

 

 

 

            II. WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

 

 

Physical Demands

 

   • Requires extended periods of sitting and standing.

   • Be able to lift varying weights up to fifty pounds and carry a distance of ten feet.

   • Be able to climb up and down trucks, ladders, shelving, etc.

 

Working Environment

 

   • Work in a store/warehouse environment with shelving and merchandise in various stages of resale.

   • It will be necessary to work in temperatures indigenous of the region.

 

Safety Requirements

 

   • It is necessary to follow all company safety requirements; they will assist in preventing accidents that may be caused by over exerting or by working in and around industrial related merchandise.

   • It is required to report all accidents to the supervisor according to company policy (available from supervisor).

 

 

Possible Work Hazards

 

   • Work around fast pace store/warehouse while heavy and large merchandise is being moved.

   • Frequently work around heavy equipment.

   • In any industrial setting there is a constant need to be aware of a consistently changing environment.

 

 

 

 

         III. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

 

 

Work Location

 

   • The primary work location is United Central's Price store/warehouse; this will be the location to report.

   • Other company locations as company needs dictate.

Work Schedules

 

   • Scheduling will be determined by the supervisor based on customer demand.

   • Normal work hours are 7 AM - 4 PM Monday through Friday, Saturdays as required.  Overtime is required when company needs dictate.

 

Accountabilities

 

   • This position may require the handling of large sums of money, until secured it will be the responsibility of the inside/counter salesperson.

   • Maintain confidentiality concerning sales, pricing policies and procedures, customer lists, credit information, and any other information which might be harmful to the company or customers if made public.
