Paragon Technologies, a SunSource company, is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to add to our purchasing and operations teams whose main mission is to lower our customer’s operating costs and increase productivity.

As the team leader for this highly analytical and problem solving group of Buyers, you must be able to:

• Lead a team of buyers to raise the performance of the company’s product lines by operating within our Best Practices and “Buyer Expectations Program”.
• Champion continuous improvement efforts and optimization of inventory levels in order to obtain and maintain efficient utilization while increasing inventory turns.
• Monitor supplier performance regarding on time delivery and quality
• Implement cost reduction programs through solid negotiating techniques

The qualified individual will have the following skills and experience:

• 3+ years leadership experience in Inventory, Purchasing or Supply Chain in an industrial environment (distribution experience highly desired)
• Minimum 2 year degree in related principle or equivalent combination of educational and on the job training experience; academic credentials in Supply Chain Management and/or APICS certification a big plus but not required 
•  MRP system experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel 
•  Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools 
•  Solid negotiation skills 
•  Must demonstrate a solid accomplishment of cost savings and inventory optimization initiatives
