Senior Communications & Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing
Location: Addison, IL

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Strategy & Marketing, this role will be leading enterprise-wide corporate communications, as well as all external marketing efforts for SunSource’s Fluid Power business unit.  This is a high impact role in a fast-growing company that will be integral in evolving the marketing organization to scale.     

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enterprise Corporate Communications:

  • Develop and implement communication strategy to build and maintain positive and consistent brand in the marketplace
  • Provide consistent and timely information to employees through various communication programs, including wellness, benefits, employee engagement and cultural initiatives
  • Collaborate with marketing and product managers to create and implement an internal marketing plan to promote commercial insights, tools, training, and resources to enhance sales productivity, including industry overviews, success stories, digital tools, and product deep-dives
  • Partner with HR to ensure consistent branding and messaging on open roles, new hires, and recognition programs

Fluid Power (Industrial and Mobile)

  • Collaborate with business and sales leadership to develop annual marketing plan to drive the strategic and commercial priorities
  • Design, implement and oversee external campaigns to promote SunSource’s fluid power products and services, build brand awareness, and generate leads
  • Employ integrated and multi-channel approach across traditional print collateral, video, social media, physical trade shows, and industry events
  • Partner with strategic marketing to quantify the market, identify and target key customer segments, and implement data-driven sales strategies
  • Work with product managers and trainers to develop rich content for product-focused sales strategies and account manager training

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to set direction, collaborate and work across the enterprise
  • Knowledge of marketing-related business practices, including advertising, market research, modern technology, and budgeting
  • Experience developing and executing a comprehensive strategic marketing plan
  • Time management and organization skills to plan and execute projects simultaneously
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing
  • 2 Year Technical degree or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or marketing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and marketing-related software
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Creative Cloud Suite is a plus
